About Dr. Peña

Nicole Peña, DO is a licensed physician in California specializing in Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine and Neuromusculoskeletal Medicine (OMM/NMM). She was born and raised in the San Francisco bay area. Throughout her life she has found meaning and purpose in caring for others. She chose to pursue a career in osteopathic medicine because of its foundation in the individual’s unity of mind/body/spirit, the body’s innate ability to heal itself, and the holistic approach to healthcare (not sick-care). She is a graduate of the University of San Diego and Touro College of Osteopathic Medicine in New York City. She completed her internship and residency training in OMM/NMM at St. Barnabas Hospital, in the Bronx, where she also served as Chief Resident. Her residency program is renowned as one of the premier training programs in the U.S. for her specialty. She has completed hundreds of additional hours of training in Osteopathic Cranial Manipulative Medicine, as well as extensive study with her mentors, though she
views her patients as her greatest teachers.
After residency, Dr. Peña returned to her home state and joined the faculty at Touro University California College of Osteopathic Medicine (TUCCOM) in the OMM department. As Associate Professor and Chair of the OMM department, she teaches OMM to medical students, develops curriculum, serves as the Director of Distance Learning and Osteopathic Clinical Integration and is the Healer’s Art Elective Course Director. She enjoys teaching and being in service to the community at TUCCOM’s Student Run Free Clinic where she volunteers her time to precept students.
Dr. Peña has extensive experience treating newborns, children, and adults with a wide-range of conditions, including critically ill patients. She enjoys working with patients of all ages and treats a broad spectrum of medical conditions. Having experienced it herself, Dr. Peña values treating pregnant and postpartum women as their bodies adapt to natural physical and physiological changes. She aims to meet each person where they are, facilitate their inherent healing capacity and guide them to their optimal state of health. She looks forward to accompanying you on your journey to a fuller expression of your health.
